Slide-See

Slide-See is a toy for ages 7+. Slide-See allows a user to move around squares to see different parts of an object below it magnified, miniaturized or polarized as well as change color. Because of its small size (10.5" x 10.5"), Slide-See can be transported easily.
Slide-See harkens back to the intangible (on screen) and tangible tile games where a user would have to correctly piece together tiles that had been scrambled to form some image. "Slide-See" deals with this idea of scrambled imagery by changing the object below it through the aforementioned means. Because there is no "correct" methodology or proper set of instructions to "solve" the "scrambled" the object below, the user is free to play with the orientation of the tiles. Different orientations will affect the object differently thereby giving thousands of different combinations of how to view the object.
Slide-See also plays with our perception of the things around us. By simultaneously changing their color and size, it questions the reasons for why objects are built in a particular manner.
